RTT: Sunshine, Silliness, & a Servant in the Making

• It’s a sunny-ish Tuesday in Seattle!  Methinks we’ll be taking a walk down to the school playground to practice a bit on the monkey bars.  I know certain people reading this have an innate fear of the injuries for which monkey bars are often responsible and will want me to drive down there in case we have to make a side trip to the ER on the way home, but what can I say?  I live on the edge.
• Have you ever been SO freaking proud of your child that you want to shout it from the rooftops, but you can’t, because you don’t want to call attention to your child, because the accomplishment of which you are so proud could be highly embarrassing to him?  Yeah, that’s how I feel.
• On second hand, forget I said that.  You didn’t read/see anything.  Right?
• I love my parents.  Has anyone ever wondered which end of the gene pool gave me my goofy side?  It’s kind of a toss-up:

• FYI, Skype rocks.
• Yesterday, Kalen colored a picture for me.  When I went to write his name and date on the back (he prefers to leave his artwork unsigned…to confuse art collectors of the future, maybe?  I, for one, am easily confused and learned the hard way to name and date everything.), he said, “It’s going on in…2011.  That’s the date of it.  2011…March 21st.  Okay, Mom?”  Sure, kiddo.

• I asked him what the letters said.  “Nothing, they’re just markings on the water.”  I sense a mystery unfolding…
• I have a strong feeling I’m going to be the recipient of lots of priceless artwork this summer.  The hallway will be quite the art gallery!  Bring it on, boys.
• This morning, Nicolas brewed coffee for me.  I joked in a sleepy haze yesterday that I should teach him to do so, and he said, “YEAH!!! I want to learn!”  Score!
• Hmm, I wonder what else he wants to learn to do.  Hey sweetie, have you ever scrubbed a floor?  It’s SO exciting…

It’s Tuesday Again

• NaBloPoMo?  What’s that?
• Eh, no biggie.  I’m still posting a lot more than I have been in recent months, right?
• Jason’s birthday is Thursday, so I need to go shopping.  I’m making these, which my sister made last week and posted about on Facebook.  I haven’t been able to get them out of my mind since.
• Have I ever mentioned how evil inspirational my sister is?
• We bought the Bailey’s already.  And sampled it.  (Of course.)  It must be in my Top 3 Flavors of All Time.  I can’t think of what the other two would be.
• We got Nicolas’s desk hung in the boys’ bedroom this weekend, and the final boxes of toys unpacked in the playroom.  It’s nice to see rooms coming together.
• Yesterday, we got the video camera I mentioned last week.  It’s nifty, and it’s on sale at Best Buy, Target, and Amazon this week, if anyone’s interested.
• One of my biggest internet pet peeves is automatic music on blogs.  Since I’m usually blog surfing in a quiet, empty house, it scares the crud out of me every time.  When I’m NOT in a quiet, empty house, it usually means I’m listening to Pandora, and random, unexpected songs make the music already playing on my computer sound funny.

• The sun is breaking out from the clouds.  Eep!  Good time to hit the errands list, so on that note…
