Chad (who is the brother of a friend of ours, and whose blog I recently began following) created 12 of 12 three years ago. I love the tradition of taking and posting twelve photos of the twelfth day of the month, so I give you my first participatory post…
8:03 am ~ The Queen contemplates the day of work ahead of her. On the plate: continue working on the castle, preparing it for sale.
8:48 am ~ The King has finished cleaning the inside of the oven. Look what a little elbow grease can do! (The stove top took a great deal longer…and a great deal more elbow grease. Thank you, m’dear!)
11:51 am ~ Most of the Princes’ games have been packed away, not to be seen again until their arrival in the Kingdom of Seattle.
12:27 pm ~ The back of the Princes’ bedroom door, portraying notes that are left outside the door of the Pirate Cantina Restaurant when it is open for business.
1:13 pm ~ The offspring of Robert the Plant, generously separated into their own pots by The Queen Mother, await distribution throughout the castle.
1:13 pm ~ Contentment, anyway. The Queen believes a Jamocha shake should be included for true happiness to be achieved.
5:26 pm ~ The Queen, sporting her Christmas Tree Socks, chats with Queen Cindy while observing the Amazing Karate Talents of several Princes and Princesses.
7:50 pm ~ The King and Queen enjoy Warm Beverages while the King attempts WiFi Connectivity.
7:51 pm ~ The Princes enjoy Animated Conversation with their Warm Beverages.
7:52 pm ~ The Queen captures Wintry Artwork on film.
8:09 pm ~ The Royal Family enjoys Classic Holiday Television.
8:17 pm ~ The Queen searches for an Interesting Photograph to round out her first 12 of 12.
Well, I guess last week’s Week of Few Words ended up being Week of Few Posts. Sadly, I didn’t finish as many of my list items as I had planned, even with less time spent blogging.
One new item was added to my list and subsequently crossed off: Mittens for Kalen. He lost his gloves some time ago, and while he usually has extraordinarily warm hands, his fingers have gotten quite cold during outside play. I finally searched out free mitten patterns (there aren’t many in crochet), and settled on these. The first one turned out so cute. Unfortunately, I misread the pattern and made the cuff much too small. Not to worry, some toddler somewhere can use it, so it now has a partner and will go on the Mitten Tree at church.
I started on another pair for Kalen Sunday night, and they fit perfectly. (pattern modification: 2 extra rows in the cuff) He is so proud of his new mittens and happily wore them to school today.
We’ve been working steadily, if a bit slowly, on getting the house ready for market. I even washed windows yesterday and today. This is rare event in my life; in fact, I don’t know that I’ve ever washed outside windows before. Vacuuming, paint touch-up, storage & organization, scrubbing, boxing up…it seems like a never-ending list. However, bit by bit, it’s getting done, and we now have a deadline of Friday for Mom to come help us with the actual staging.
Thank goodness! A looming deadline is just the kick in the pants I need…
